Cadillac Assembly Line was formed in the fall of 2018. Our goal at that time was create the best Blues and Swing Band performing throughout the Phoenix Metro area and Statewide. We have played at more than 20 venues in the Phoenix area including Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix Blues Society Blues Blast Festival, Mesa Arts Center, Flagstaff Blues & Brews Festival and Superstition Blues & Brews Festival. Members of Cadillac Assembly Line are regarded by their peers as some of finest musicians in the Phoenix area including 2017 Arizona Blues Hall of Fame guitarist Mike Howard. The current band line-up is listed below. Cadillac Assembly is available for performances at public and private venues including restaurants, pubs, clubs, corporate events and festivals.

Sebastian Brugliera   –  Lead Vocals and Guitar

Sebastian started playing the guitar at age 14. After high school he put the guitar aside while he attended college and law school. Sebastian is originally from Chicago and always had a love for Chicago Blues.  He and his family moved to Phoenix in 1981.  He soon after picked up his guitar along with his longtime friend Paul Klapper formed The Rhythm Cats. Paul is well known around Phoenix for his Blues Harmonica and occasionally sits in. Cadillac Assembly Line drummer Vince Curtis joined with Sebastian and Paul playing all over the Phoenix area during the Swing dance craze of the early 90’s. Sebastian took a break from playing for several years while helping his daughter who was starting her own musical career performing music throughout the Valley, playing the coffee house scene.  Sebastian is known for his powerful vocals and classy stage persona.  His vocals range allows him to sing anything from lowdown back in the alley Chicago Blues to high energy Texas and West Coast Swing and smooth ballads.

Vince Curtis – Drums

Vince began playing the drums in 1979 after seeing Peter Criss of Kiss, in concert.  Over the next few years, Vince would practice for a few hours a day to improve his proficiency and skills.  He went into The Army in 1985 after graduating from high school.  Once there, he began getting little weekend jobs at the NCO’s club.  It proved to be a great experience and he convinced myself that he might like to do this for a living.  After being discharged from the service in 1989, he kicked it with couple of bands for a few years in the Phoenix area.  After awhile, Vince realized that decent money and some form of economic security would probably never be in the equation for me as a drummer. In 1998 he stumbled across an internet site called EBay.  It didn’t take long for me to realize that this thing called EBay is a god send.  Now I had a way to supplement my dream without having to work for someone else.  This was great, I thought!    20 years later, I am still supporting the dream with a modest little Ebay/internet drum business, aka Vintagedrumjunky.  Vince’s playing experiences have been primarily steeped in the roots of Blues, the music that really has  made an impact on his life.

Dennis Drewry – Bass

Before moving to Phoenix in 2001Dennis played in Colorado as member of the band Zephyr and several other bands throughout the Colorado Circuit. Following his move to Phoenix he joined Sisthas Too. Most recently he performed as the bassist for the band PopTop. Now embracing his role as bassist for Cadillac Assembly Line. Dennis makes up a solid foundational component of the band’s tight rhythm section and their very danceable swing blues repertoire.

JAMES ROBERTSON – Lead Guitar

James was born and raised in southern Idaho, which makes his love of the blues a bit of a mystery, but he certainly heard the music calling him and answered with a bottleneck slide and electric guitar. He moved to Phoenix in 1992 where he began attending shows and jam nights. By the mid 1990s his unique, “over the top” slide guitar style landed him his nickname, “Sweetfinger”, and a spot playing for Jake De Snake & The Blues Constrictors.James finished out that decade with Bent Blue, then continued through the 2000s and forward playing for the Delrayz, RD Olson, Two Flavor Blues, Sistahs Too, and Walkin Cane Mark.Highlights from the last 25 years include opening for Storyville, “Big” Doyle Bramhall, Lee Oskar, The North Mississippi Allstars, and representing Arizona twice in the International Blues Challenge, the first time with RD Olson in 2015 and more recently in 2017 with Sistahs Too. James’ playing style echoes his early slide influences like Elmore James, Hound Dog Taylor, and Mike Henderson, as well as primarily non-slide players like Jimmie Vaughan, Kid Ramos, BB King, and Nick Curran. James was inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame in 2022.In addition to performing with Cadillac Assembly Line currently backs up Big Pete Pearson, plays in the Jamie Waldron Trio, and True Flavor Blues, featuring Scotty Spenner. James looks forward to seeing you at upcoming Cadillac Assembly Line shows.
